4 c of milk
1 1/2 c of sugar
2 tbs vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
2 c heavy whipping cream or 1 c whipping cream
Separate the eggs, combine milk, egg yolks and sugar. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly to make a soft smooth custard.
Beat egg whites stiff and over them pour the hot custard and mix thoroughly.
Place this mixture in your ice cream container and cool in refrigerator (overnight is desired).
When cool, add whipped cream and vanilla, and crank your ice cream maker until ice cream is made. It is possible to place ice cream in a frezzer overnight, leaving it in the ice cream container.
Please make no more than 2 days ahead of the time that it will be served. Keep ice cream frozen.
