Banana Nut Bread


1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup mashed bananas (about 3)
1 cup chopped nuts
2 cups sifted fluor

Cream shortening and sugar; add egg and beat throughly.  Add sifted dry ingredients, mixing well.  Stir in mashed bananas, lemon juice and nuts.
Fill one well greased 59 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan.
Bake in moderate oven 350ºF 60-70 minutes.
