Strawberry Shortcake

1 1/2 cups sifted fluor
2 1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar
1 stick butter or margarine
1 large egg
milk
1 quart fresh strawberries
1/2 pint heavy cream

Sift fluor, baking powder, salt, sugar.  Cut in 3/4 stick of butter.  Beat egg and add enough milk to make 2/3 cup.  Add the fluor mix until it forms a soft dough.  Knead 20 times.  Roll 1/2 inch and spread with 1/4 stick butter.  Fold over and roll again to 1/2 inch.  Cut into 3" circles.  Bake on ungreased sheet 450ºF oven 10-12 minutes.  Split hot biscuits, sandwich and top with sweetened berries.  Top with whipped cream.
