Macaroon top Apple Pie

4 cups freshly sliced apples
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
2 tbsp butter or margarine
1 egg
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup fluor
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup coconut

Slice peeled apples into buttered 9 inch pie plate.  Add 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon, bake 20 minutes at 375ºF.  Cream butter and second 1/2 cup sugar.  Add egg beaten well, sifted dry ingredients, vanilla, coconut.  Spread completely over surface of hot apples.  Bake 30 minutes at 375ºF or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown.
Serv ot or cold with whipped cream or ice cream.
